President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has blamed the “inability” of an international mediation group to find a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for recent deadly clashes between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
- Mr. Kocharyan, how would you comment on the reaction of the Turkish authorities on a drastic escalation of tensions in the NK conflict zone?
-It is regrettable that the weight of human casualties for Turkey is measured by national identity.
With such racist statements Turkey encourages the continuation of actions by the aggressor against the self-determined Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
And this fits into the logic of policy implemented by the current leadership of Turkey, the result of which is to spread the wave of instability, terrorism and bloodshed both within Turkey and beyond its borders.

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian has discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone with Hossein Dehghan, minister of defense of Iran.

Karabakh Defense Army has expressed readiness to discuss a possible truce “in the context of returning to the initial positions.”

Earlier Belarus Foreign Ministry had published a statement about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying that it supports peaceful resolution of the conflict in accordance to the international recognized norms and principles, primarily based on the principle of observing sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, as well as the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and OSCE decisions.
