"Karabakh Defense Forces have carried out punitive action to the north direction and destroyed one more Azerbaijani tank, thus the number of destroyed tanks has reached 15," Karabakh Army spokesperson Senor Hasratian told RFE/RL's Armenian service.
Citing officials in Iran’s northwestern East Azarbaiajan province, the Fars news agency reported on Sunday that three mortar shells hit an Iranian village close to the “line of contact.” There was no word on casualties or material damage caused by them. The provincial vice-governor said the Armenian and Azerbaijani militaries have assured Iranian border guards that they “will not repeat such a mistake.”
Karabakh President Bako Sahakian has held a working meeting today to "discuss the situation on the front-line and the steps taken by Karabakh Defense Army to stop the criminal encroachments of the enemy."
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has expressed readiness to help and support the civilians, who have suffered because of the recent tensions.
The problem between Azerbaijan and Armenia must be solved immediately, Turkey’s foreign minister said on Sunday.
"It (the problem along the contact line) should be solved within the framework of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity," Cavusoglu told reporters in Turkey's southern province of Antalya.
He said that Karabakh and Azerbaijan's occupied-territories issue must be overcome through peaceful means.
Cavusoglu criticized the Minsk Group – an international organization co-chaired by Russia, the U.S. and France – for not taking necessary steps or making efforts to solve the Karabakh issue.
His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, will pray for the fatherland and the soldiers defending the Fatherland tomorrow at 18 at St. Gregory the Illuminator Church, the Press Service of the Holy See has said.
“I am extremely worried at the reports of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and deeply saddened at the loss of life yesterday”, said Pedro Agramunt, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. “I call on both sides to honour the cease-fire and swiftly resume negotiations towards a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict”.
Mr Agramunt also called for "the withdrawal of all Armenian armed troops from occupied Azerbaijani territories in compliance with the UN Security Council resolutions."

Today, Hetq photographer Hakob Poghosyan has been in Talish, a community that was temporarily overrun by Azerbaijani military units yesterday and taken photos of Valera Khalapyan and his wife Razmela, who were shot to death in their home, their ears were cut off. Marousya Khalapyan, born 1924, was also shot.
