RFE/RL Armenian Service (Azatutyun) As Innovative Multimedia Pioneer

RFE/RL’s Armenian Service (Azatutyun) has undertaken a number of innovative projects lately blazing a trail for a new type of media on the local market. Among Azatutyun’s unique initiatives are also increasingly popular Facebook conferences organized with the aid of live video streaming and the first-ever Google Hangout discussion for the English-speaking audience on the subject of an upcoming presidential election that was organized from the radio station’s Yerevan studio. Additionally, as part of the ongoing coverage of the presidential campaign in Armenia, the Service’s Director Harry Tamrazian has conducted a series of exclusive interviews with the top candidates in the race, including incumbent head of state Serzh Sarkisian and his main challengers.
