The OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission in Armenia would like to clarify statements attributed to the mission ahead, Ambassador Geert Ahrens, in a story titled “OSCE Worried About Armenian Election Campaign” and posted on Armenialiberty.org on February 7. The mission states that while Ambassador Ahrens spoke about the “use of the position of prime minister” by presidential candidate Serzh Sarkisian in his interview with RFE/RL, he did not say that that, as the story put it, “could hamper the proper conduct of the February 19 vote.”
