(AFP) - Armenian President Robert Kocharian Wednesday began a state visit to India during which he will meet Indian leaders and sign agreements on bilateral cooperation, a foreign ministry statement said.
Kocharian, accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation, will meet President Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee during his four-day trip. The two countries will sign agreements on avoiding double taxation, exempting diplomats from visas and boosting cooperation in information technology, the statement said.
Trade between India and Armenia was around three million dollars in the year to March and is expected to increase by almost 50 percent in the current year, the statement said.
