Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian ended on Thursday a two-day official visit to Havana aimed at exploring possibilities for economic cooperation between Armenia and Cuba. Oskanian met with the speaker of the Cuban parliament, Ricarco Alarcon de Cesada, Foreign Trade Minister Raul de la Nuez and other Cuban officials.
A report by the Caribbean Media Corporation news agency, cited by the Groong online service, said the talks centered on ways of improving the virtually non-existent bilateral trade relations. The two sides were due to sign cooperation agreements covering trade and health care.
"If we analyze the economic characteristics of our nations, there are products we could trade for mutual benefit," Nuez was quoted as saying.
