DOHA, (AFP, Itar-Tass) - Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and Armenian President Robert Kocharian signed five cooperation agreements here Monday, the official QNA news agency reported.

The two leaders sealed accords for economic, agricultural and aviation cooperation, as well as one scrapping double taxation and another to help boost investments between their countries, QNA said.

Kocharian arrived in Qatar from a three-day visit to the United Arab Emirates. He signed there on Saturday a package of similar agreements with the UAE leader, Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahayan.

The documents cover trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries. They call, in particular, for establishing partnership ties between agro-industrial complexes of the two countries, and close interaction in transport, communications, tourism, banking, and investment projects.

The two sides also signed protocols regulating the legal basis of relations between the UAE and Armenia. Officials said the two countries will cooperate in the fields of culture, science, education, and the training of personnel.
