TOKYO, (AFP) - Armenia's President Robert Kocharian will visit Japan from December 19 to 22 to meet Japanese leaders, the government said Friday.
Kocharian will meet Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi as well as Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko during his visit, the foreign ministry said.
"The Japanese government welcomes the visit by the president because it would deepen the friendly relationship between Japan and Armenia," the ministry said in a statement.
Kocharian will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian and other ministers.
