Weather conditions in Armenia this year have been quite favorable for some agricultural crops and watermelons in particular. The juicy fruit is now one of the cheapest products in the country, costing 50-80 drams (12-20 U.S. cents) per kilogram in local shops and markets. Despite the low price, watermelon farmers in one Armenian village are looking to capitalize on the bumper harvest. (A photo story by Karen Minasyan.)
