“Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun” makes a case for changing the state system to stamp out economic monopolies in Armenia and insists it is a matter of political will. It says dismantling the oligarchic system does not simply meet the government’s interests. “It is very convenient for the incumbent authorities to have this oligarchic system. It suits the government to have the existing social discontent directed at oligarchs. In the meantime, they can control the entire economy through just a dozen oligarchs and also have these oligarchs committing electoral fraud for them.”

“168 Zham” sees lack of dissent with the main opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK) regarding their leader Levon Ter-Petrosian’s stated offer of cooperation to the second largest party in the governing coalition, Prosperous Armenia (BHK) despite the fact that it was presented as his personal opinion or an ‘analytical thought’. “Speaking about the BHK Ter-Petrosian said there was no consensus within the HAK on that matter. But three days after that statement none of the members of the alliance have spoken against it… It proves again what has been known for a long time – everything in the HAK is decided by Ter-Petrosian.”

“Zhamanak” speculates that BHK leader Gagik Tsarukian is likely to stay on his current vocation in Dubai for a little longer confronted with the prospect of “providing some answer to the offer made by the HAK leader upon his return.” “Meanwhile, a situation has emerged for Tsarukian that whatever he says may boomerang him. That’s why, to avoid this boomerang effect, Tsarukian is likely to prefer to stay in Dubai for longer.”

“Hayots Ashkhar” defends the stance of the Armenian armed forces and political leadership to give a ‘disproportionate response’ to repeated deadly ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan along the ‘line of contact’ in Karabakh. “Considering the intensity of the ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani side and particularly its use of snipers, it is more proper to speak about actions aimed at forming a relative state of war rather than escalate tensions. And the armed forces of Armenia and Karabakh have every reason not to leave these ceasefire violations unanswered.”
