President Robert Kocharian, who underwent appendix surgery on Thursday, has been discharged from hospital and resumed his work, a presidential spokeswoman said on Saturday.
The official, Hasmik Petrosian, told RFE/RL that the 47-year-old leader has fully recovered from the brief illness.
Kocharian on Saturday received credentials from Kyrgyzstan’s new ambassador to Armenia, Kemelbek Nanaev. The two men also discussed his official visit to the Central Asian state scheduled for April.
Petrosian said the meeting took place in a government compound where Kocharian resides with his wife and three children. Official ceremonies are rarely held there.
The president, who enjoys good health, had his appendix removed during an operation in the city’s Nairi hospital.
