Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia To Hold Joint Exhibition In Japan

JETRO, a Japanese trade organization promoting overseas investments, will hold an exhibition devoted to the South Caucasus at the Akasaka Exhibition Hall in Tokyo from June 25 to 29 . According to a JETRO press release, the exhibition is being organized jointly with the governments of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. JETRO will also hold a seminar on the investment climate in South Caucasus countries on June 26.

For the first time three South Caucasus countries will have the chance to promote their products in Japan. According to the JETRO press release, a total of 135 firms and organizations from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia will put their products, including "world-renowned Armenian brandy, high-quality Azerbaijani caviar and red wine from Georgia." on display at the Tokyo exhibition.

JETRO said that it wants to support the efforts of South Caucasus countries to promote private businesses and to increase the competitiveness of their export products. It also expressed hope that the first joint exhibition of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia will strengthen peace in the region.

During the exhibition period, the three South Caucasus countries will hold their first bilateral economic conferences with Japan. The first Japan-Armenia joint economic conference will meet on June 28. The first Japan-Georgia joint economic conference will be held on June 27. The meeting between Japan and Azerbaijan will be announced later.

According to JETRO, a wide variety of handouts and other material will be distributed during the exhibition. The panel displays and video presentations will introduce the countries and their investment climates.

JETRO is a semi-governmental agency that promotes oversees investments and provides information to Japanese companies interested in or wishing to explore the possibility of making overseas investments.
