Religious Leaders Discuss Conflicts

A meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States Inter-religious Council took place in Yerevan on November 28. Religious leaders discussed conflicts, including Karabakh, calling for peaceful resolutions to disputes. At the meeting Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian and Azerbaijan’s top Shia Muslim leader, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, also addressed the Karabakh issue, saying that it must be settled by means of negotiations conducted within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
