Vazgen Manukian, one of the Ardarutiun leaders, former Prime Minister, called on Thursday for creating in Armenia a “trustworthy alternative," an “alternative Armenia.” This means, according to Manukian, first of all ideas, and people devoted to those ideas. “Otherwise, the present authorities will reproduce themselves,” Manukian warned.
Manukian is presently holding meetings with different political figures. But he said that the process is not over yet so he stopped short of making public the names of those politicians.
Asked whether former president Levon Ter-Pertosian, former interior minister Vano Siradeghian or former commander of the Nagorno-Karabakh Samvel Babayan are in his list, Manukian answered that he hadn’t met them yet. He said he had held meeting with people who participated in the process of building independent Armenia.
“I would involve Paruir Hayrikian, Ashot Manucharian, a lot of people from Karabagh,” Manukian said. “Their opinion is very important for me.”
