Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian said on Monday that he and his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov failed to agree a date for the next Armenian-Azerbaijani summit during their meeting in Slovenia the previous day.
The two men had an unofficial dinner with the three co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on the sidelines of an OSCE ministerial meeting in Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana.
“No date and place has been decided yet for the meetings of the presidents and the ministers,” Oskanian told RFE/RL by phone. He said that should be clarified during the co-chairs’ upcoming tour of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
He also said further progress in the peace process depends on the results of the planned talks between Presidents Ilham Aliev of Azerbaijan and Robert Kocharian.
