At least five Armenian servicemen were killed and several others injured on Sunday when a military truck carrying them crashed in Nagorno-Karabakh, the spokesman for the Defense Ministry in Yerevan said on Monday.
The official, Seyran Shahsuvarian, refused to reveal possible causes and other details of one of the deadliest incidents involving Armenian troops in years. Nor would he specify the precise location of the vehicle crash. Shahsuvarian added only that “five or six soldiers” were hospitalized with serious wounds.
Military officials in Stepanakert declined a comment.
