Iran's Foreign Minister Cancels Armenia Trip Over Iraq Tensions

YEREVAN, (AP) - Iran's foreign minister canceled a visit to Armenia next week due to growing uncertainty over Iraq, the Armenian Foreign ministry said in a statement Saturday.

Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazzi was due to arrive in the Armenian capital Yerevan Monday for a one-day visit, but put off the trip indefinitely because of "sharpening" tensions over Iraq, the statement said.

Kharazzi was due to meet with Armenia's President Robert Kocharian, top Cabinet ministers and lawmakers. Kocharian was re-elected last week in a vote criticized as fraudulent by Armenia's opposition.
