Warsaw (dpa) - Polish border police Sunday detained a German citizen attempting to smuggle four Armenian nationals into Poland, the Polish PAP news agency reported.
The four Armenians including a 13-year-old boy, his parents and a 32-year-old male were discovered hidden in the back of the German's car at the Jakuszyce crossing on the Polish-Czech border by Polish officials.
The 57-year-old German male is known to German officials as a repeat offender and has attempted to smuggle a number of asylum seekers into Germany via various routes, the report said. The four Armenian nationals will be returned to the Czech Republic.
Polish officials suspect the man was attempting to smuggle the Armenians into Germany.
