Ross Wilson, the U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan visiting Armenia, met with President Robert Kocharian on Wednesday. Washington’s envoy in Yerevan, John Ordway, also attended the meeting.
Kocharian’s office said the three men discussed “a broad range of issues related to regional problems,” including international efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. No details were reported.
Wilson on Tuesday visited the Armenian parliament to meet with leaders of its main factions.
The purpose of his visit to Armenia was not clear. Officials from the U.S. embassy in Yerevan could not be reached for comment.
Wilson’s previous such trip took place in late February when he attended an annual meeting in Yerevan of the American ambassadors to Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. It was chaired by U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Lynn Pascoe.
