SOCHI, Russia (Itar-Tass) - President Vladimir Putin had a bilateral meeting with Armenian President Robert Kocharian at an informal CIS summit in Sochi on Wednesday. Putin's upcoming visit to Yerevan was one of the issues they discussed during the meeting, sources in the Russian delegation told Itar-Tass.
Another important issue was the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Armenia. Russian presidential deputy chief of staff Sergei Prikhodko told journalists that Putin and Kocharian welcomed the results of a recent meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Yerevan.
The Russian part of the commission is headed by Vice-Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov. Prikhodko said that the commission reached agreement on the implementation of several important joint projects.
