President Robert Kocharian met with the EU commissioner on joint foreign and security policy Javier Solana in Brussels on Friday for talks in which the Nagorno-Karbakh peace process figured prominently.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Solana said he also discussed with Kocharian bilateral relations between the EU and Armenia as well as the overall situation in the region.
"We have concentrated much of the discussion, much of the exchange of the views on the Nagorno-Karabakh question," he said.
The Armenian President said he there was an "interesting discussion" on prospects for the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, and issues related to regional developments. "We already had many opportunities for discussions and I think this discussion will add something in the context of EU-Armenia relations", the Armenian leader said.
Kocharia is in the Belgian capital on a three-day official visit. He met with the president of the European Commission, Romano Prodi, the previous day.
